I means that I recognize what I have received by way of blessings in my life has come from God; it means I understand when God blesses me. He blesses others through me; it means I understand I have a responsibility to share my blessings so that the teachings of Christ may be known and experienced by all. Support, through your prayers, your work, and your gift, Project Advance 2013 – “Open Wide the Door of Faith”. Please give at our parish or online at to benefit both our parish and the good work of our Archdiocese.

Our parish diocesan goal is $ 32,500. # of Pledges: 76. Amount Collected: $ 20,683. Donations can be made by cheque, cash or credit card. Canvassers will be available after all Masses to take pledges.

Liturgical Ministries.
This weekend we are asking parishioners to sign up for liturgical ministries. This includes everyone, those who are involved in a ministry and who want to continue, as well as those who want to begin doing a ministry. The ministries are the following.
1. Hospitality: welcome people to the parish and hand out bulletins;
2. Ushers: help people to find a place to sit. Ushers may also help with the collection. They also ask people to carry the bread and wine to the altar;
3. Collectors: take the collection;
4. Readers or Lectors: proclaim the biblical readings;
5. Leaders for Children’s Liturgy: help with liturgy for children.
6. Singers and Musicians: help with the 9:00 am and 11:00 am choirs.
7. Coffee Sunday Hosts & Hostess: prepare coffee and refreshments for the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses.
8. Altar Servers: carry the cross and candles and serve at the altar.
As a general rule, each person should only do one ministry. An exception is the usher who may help with the collection if required. If we do not have sufficient ministers at a Mass, people may be asked to become involved in two or even three ministries.
At this time, we are not asking for new eucharistic ministers. The present eucharistic ministers will continue until November 2014. This ministry is regulated by the Archbishop.

Thomas Merton and Henri Nouwen: Dr. Michael Higgins will teach a one week course on the lives and work of Thomas Merton and Henri Nouwen at the Vancouver School of Theology, July 8 -12. Registration/Info contact Dr. Patricia Dutcher-Walls 604-822-9804; email
