We congratulate Nick Meisl of our parish and we ask God to bless him in his ministry. Nick will be ordained a deacon at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10. Some time thereafter he will be ordained to the priesthood. Let us support him with our prayers.

Fr. Ken Forster, OMI, preached our Parish Mission in March. He has been named the Provincial Superior of the English speaking Oblates in Canada. Fr. Ken Thorson, OMI, who was here in February for a weekend is one of his assistants.

GIFT (Growing in Faith Together) – Wednesday, May 8, 5:30 – 7:45 pm in the Parish Hall.

THEME: SHINE LIKE THE SON. Guest Speaker: Teresa Macht from St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Tickets on sale today and Saturday/Sunday May 4/5 after all masses, and on Wednesday May 1 at the PREP Class. Tickets: Adults: $ 10.00; seniors and children 5 – 11 years, $ 5:00; families of 3 or more,
$ 25.00. Dinner included.

PREP REMINDERS:

ST. PETER’S YOUNG-AT-HEART are going to the Abbey in Mission on Thursday, May 16 from 9 am to 3 pm. Cost: Under $ 10.00. Any senior who is interested in going contact Anne Heath at 604-522-8542.

CWL BURSARY: Two Bursaries totalling $ 500 each to a son/daughter of a registered member of St. Peter’s Parish graduating from a Catholic High School or Public High School. Must be deserving academically and financially and continues to study at a post secondary institution. Applications are available at the back of the Church and must be returned by May 15. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Knights of Columbus will be having their delicious sausage and Pancake

Breakfast, Sunday May 5 after the 9 am and 11 am Masses.

MAY 12-19, 2013 is the National Week for Life and the Family, an initiative of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and promoted by the Office of Life, Marriage and Family. As part of this initiative each parish will recognize couples who are celebrating milestone anniversaries (10, 25, 40, 50, 60) with a special blessing at Masses on May 12 (19). Please register with the parish office before May 5.

PRO-LIFE MASS & VIGIL: Peaceful, prayerful vigil for unborn children and their parents. Saturday, May 4, 9 am Mass at St. John the Apostle Church, 5457 Trafalgar Street, Vancouver. Followed by Rosary and Vigil in the Church.

KENYA MISSION AWARENESS 2013.
On Thursday, May 16, Father Gerry Conlan, OMI, will speak about his missionary experiences in Kenya in the Hall at 7:00 pm. This is the same mission where Father Ken Forster served for nine years. We invite you to come and meet Fr. Gerry and through his presentation, learn more about the beautiful people of Kenya.
