Ecumenism
Ecumenism is a movement among Christian Churches which includes praying and working towards greater unity among Churches and also getting to know each other better and working together for common goals like social justice and human rights. In the Catholic Church, ecumenism has been promoted and encouraged since Vatican II.
There is a ministerial association in New Westminster consisting of pastors from a number of Churches. We meet monthly. We gather for Prayer for Christian Unity in January and World Day of Prayer in March, as well as the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. During Lent members of the churches meet on five Wednesdays to work on a common theme.
