MEET YOUR RELATIVES – Anglican Roman Catholic Dialogue Series: Offices of Ecumenical Relations of the Archdiocese of Vancouver and Anglican Dioceses of New Westminster are hosting a series of gatherings and dialogue that will help build relationship and friendship, and honor the gifts of service we bring to our communities. The conversations in a relaxed, respectful and joyful environment will help Catholics and Anglicans to grow together in faith, love and service as valued members of the Body of Christ. The first gathering will be part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Sunday Jan. 26, 2 to 4 pm at St. Helen’s Parish, 3860 Triumph Street.

Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace: This year our education and action program is called “A Voice For Justice”. This is in response to reports from mine-affected communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America that are experiencing conflict, pollution, forced displacements and other negative impacts from the presence of Canadian mines. The campaign is to help Canadians better understand the negative impact some Canadian mines are having on some of the poorest and most vulnerable people of the world. It is not a campaign against mining but about corporate practices that are an affront to Human Dignity and would also be in violation of Canadian laws and regulations.

Please read the attached brochure for more information. Next Sunday cards will be available at the back of the church to sign that asks parliament to establish an independent ombudsman.
