PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM (PREP): Registration and classes for Level 1 – 7 will begin at 6:15pm on September 12. The cost for the year is $50/student which includes books and is tax deductible with a max cost of $100/family. This program will run every Wednesday evening from 6:15 pm-7:30 pm. Parents, please be in the church at 7:15pm for announcements each night and to pick up your children.

Archdiocesan Goal: $ 30,500. # of Pledges: 113. Total Amount Collected: $ 34,572.

Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator: St. Peter’s Parish is seeking a dynamic individual with a strong commitment to young people and the Roman Catholic faith to serve as the Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator. The Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator plans and oversees parish youth ministry efforts and is responsible for coordinating and facilitating human and other resources directed towards youth ministry. This is a paid, part- time position that requires excellent administrative and interpersonal skills and involves much work with adults and youth. Adult Faith Formation and RCIA: Do you want to learn more about your Catholic faith? Join us at our weekly meetings on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 / 9:00 pm beginning on September 13 in one of the meeting rooms. This is also an invitation for those adults who want to join the RCIA in preparation for the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) or for those members of other Churches who are interested in joining the Catholic Church.

We cover the following topics:
1. The main teachings of the Apostles Creed about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Church;
2. The Liturgy and the Sacraments;
3. Moral values and Christian life;
4. Prayer and the spiritual life.
There is plenty of time for questions and discussions. Every question is a good one. This is a faith journey which always includes praying together and sharing our faith with each other.

Bible Study: We will continue our weekly Bible Study sessions on Monday, September 10 at 7:00 pm in the meeting room. This year we continue with the second half of the Acts of the Apostles. Then we will begin to study St. Paul’s Epistles. As Catholics we are always encouraged, especially by Pope Benedict, to know the Bible better. This is a good opportunity for those who are interested.

“Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe”, October 24 to November 4, 2012, visiting colonial cities of Mexico and “All Saints Day” in Michoacán, hosted by Fr. Bernard Mc.Cosham of St. Augustine’s Church. A slide show presentation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at St. Peter’s social hall after 11:00 am Mass.
