<p>WORLD DAY OF PRAYER &#8211; Friday, March 2 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 501-4th Avenue, New Westminster at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome!</p>
<p>ASH WEDNESDAY &#8211; FEBRUARY 22, LENT BEGINS Mass Times: 12:00 Noon</p>
<p>7:00 p.m.<br />
Stations of the Cross will be held every Friday in Lent after the Noon Mass.</p>
<p>Lent is a preparation of Easter, a time of conversion, growth, repentance, almsgiving and prayer.<br />
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting and abstaining from meat for all adults.<br />
Lent is a final preparation for catechumens and candidates who will receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.<br />
We are all called to repentance and renewal in which we can celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation.</p>
<p>EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: Every parish in the Archdiocese of Vancouver is assigned days during the year for Eucharistic Adoration. We are having it on Thursday and Friday.<br />
Thursday, February 23: 12:30 pm &#8211; 4:00 pm.<br />
Friday, February 24: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.</p>
<p>There are sign-up sheets at the back of the Church to assure that someone will be in the Church during these times.</p>

<p>If you have a family member living in a senior&#8217;s home or long term care hospital, please let the parish office know so someone can visit and bring them communion if they wish to receive.</p>
<p>If a parishioner needs a ride to Mass on any weekend, please phone the office and we will find someone to bring you to the Church and take you home.</p>
<p>We are looking for a wheelchair in case it may be needed at the Church. If someone has one to sell or to donate to the Parish, please phone the office.</p>
<p>GROWING IN FAITH TOGETHER (GIFT) &#8211; Wednesday, March 14. Volunteers needed. If you can help please contact the parish office.</p>

<p>ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY: We are anxious to have one or two new members to join our group.<br />
Our main work is daily visiting and distribution of food vouchers to needy people and families in New Westminster. We need people who live in NW and have the ability to get around and are willing to commit to such work for approximately half an hour per day for one week each month. Monthly meetings lasting less than an hour are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 12:30 pm in the Meeting Room. Please call Paul at 604-526-0014 if you are interested and would like to give it a try.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE ACTION CARD: </strong></p>
<p>Following up on the information booklet you received in last Sunday&#8217;s bulletin, today you will find action cards to sign at the back of the church. This card is a way to express our support with small-scale farmers who urgently request the promotion of agricultural models that will enable them to feed their communities, participate in the fight against climate change, and improve their living conditions. All signed cards will be mailed together to D&amp;P headquarters.</p>
<p><strong>Banns of proposed marriage between Paulo Gene Torrella and Laarni Lumbao who are planning to be married on February 16, 2012. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Parishioners who have old palms, can drop them off in the lid provided at the church entrance. </strong></p>
<p><strong>ST. VINCENT DE PAUL MEETING &#8211; Monday, January 23, 7 pm in the Meeting Room. </strong></p>
<p><strong>PARISH COUNCIL MEETING &#8211; Tuesday, January 24 at 7 pm in the Meeting Room. </strong></p>
<p><strong>PRO-LIFE PRAYERS will be held on Wednesday, January 25 after the noon mass. </strong></p>
<p>If you have a family member living in a senior&#8217;s home or long term care hospital, please let the parish office know so someone can visit and bring them communion if they wish to receive.</p>
<p><strong>Registration for 2012/2013 at Our Lady of Mercy School </strong></p>
<p>If you have a child ready for Kindergarten for the 2012/2013 school year, please call Mrs. David at the school office @ 604-526-7121. Waiting List Application forms are available for download from our website www.ourladyofmercy.ca or for pick up at the school office. If you would like to have your child on the waiting list for Kindergarten, please send the waiting list application form in as soon as possible. We will be running a full day kindergarten. Please do not delay as the list fills quickly.</p>
<p>Waiting List Application forms for Grades 1 to 7 are also available for download or for pick up at the school office. Please submit completed forms along with a copy of your child’s most recent report card. Thank you.</p>
