<p>The course aims to explore the foundations and rationale of the Canadian catechetical program, its context and directives in the light of the Post Vatican II. Furthermore, it will lead the students to a deeper understanding and a greater appreciation of Catechesis in the faith formation in schools through Religious Education Programs. <p>REFUGEE SPONSORSHIP: Our one year sponsorship of Emad, Basmaa, Sandra, Tim and Tanya (originally from Iraq via Syria) will be completed in May. They are all doing well &#8211; Basmaa is working full-time (both Emad and Basmaa have been at ESL school), Sandra and Tim will be receiving the sacrament of confirmation on May 13th. All 3 children are working hard at their schools. We wish them all the best for the future and look forward to a continued friendship.</p>

<p>THE CATHOLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF BC is sponsoring a workshop on May 1st for Pastoral Care Volunteers. This session will be held at Saint Michael’s Parish in Burnaby and will start with Mass in the Church. Speakers will address various issues including Depression, the Efficacy of a Pastoral Visit, the Sacramental Ministry to the Sick and Church Teaching on Health Care Issues. Registration is $60 for the day; lunch will be provided. The registration brochure can be downloaded from www.chabc.bc.ca under “upcoming events”. Everyone is welcome – those who volunteer in their local care facilities, as well as those who visit the sick and the elderly in their homes. Pre-registration is required by April 25th.</p>

<p>FUNDRAISING DINNER FOR REFUGEE FUND &#8211; Saturday, April 21st in the Church Hall. Doors open, 6 pm, Dinner &#8211; 6:30 pm. Tickets for the dinner will be on sale after all weekend masses.<br />
Tickets: $ 15 adults, $ 10 children 6 &#8211; 12. Dinner will be Greek stuffed chicken<br />
(leg) with sundried tomato, olives &amp; feta cheese, steamed rice, tossed salad and dessert.</p>
<p>There will be door prizes, 50/50 draw and raffles for gift baskets, entertainment will be Irish dancers. All are welcome. If you can&#8217;t come to the dinner, but would like to donate</p>
<p>towards the Refugee Fund, envelopes will be available with the tickets. All are welcome!</p>
